Warning! This post will have LOTS of flower pictures. We were up for our normal routine and today we headed for Monet’s Garden. We avoid tolls as much as possible so we end up on country roads and in quaint villages. Today we went through Andyles. It has an old abandoned hospital, a castle and is just about the right size of a town. Eh, I just moved to Kentucky so I’ll skip the move to France, but it was quite nice.

We didn’t have high expectations of Monet’s garden thinking the flowers would be past their prime in September. We were pleasantly surprised to find we were mistaken:
We enjoyed Monet’s house as well. I ended up following a man who was passionate about the impressionist. He was jubilent to see the works up close and in person. He taught us all about how the impressionists borrowed heavily from Asian artists when they found nick-nacks wrapped in old artwork for shipping.

I think this may have been one of Mom and A. Char’s favorite days.

We had fun too!

If you ever want a good belly laugh, have Ted imitate a Millenial posing for a selfie! The garden was very crowded with young couples, busloads of folks from all over the world and lots of old people. I guess September is when all of us retirees head to France! I was pretty impressed that the garden was arranged to accomodate all of us.

Obviously I had to include pictures of the famed water lily garden.
Another fine meal and a shopping trip (Aunt Charlotte bought a hat) and we headed back to the timeshare.
